IRD, like all French higher education and research (Enseignement supérieur et recherche : ESR) institutions, encourages people involved in research (researchers, technicians, engineers, support departments staff, etc.) to create and maintain an ORCID profile.
Digital identifiers are a key component of open science as they contribute to the traceability of scientific output: Who does what? How? With what funding? With which partners?
